MEP training : Multi Engine Pistons

MEP training

The Multi Engine Piston (MEP) training is an essential step for any pilot looking to advance their aviation career. With Aéropyrénées, a specialist in aviation training, you will acquire the necessary skills to pilot multi-engine piston aircraft, opening up new career opportunities. Whether you aim to work in commercial aviation or simply want to enhance your private pilot skills, MEP training is a key part of your educational journey.

Objective of the Training

The objective of MEP training is to prepare you to pilot aircraft equipped with multiple engines. Beyond technical mastery, you will be trained in the operational and safety aspects related to managing multiple engines, asymmetry, fuel management, and the differences in piloting compared to a traditional single-engine aircraft. As most airlines operate exclusively multi-engine aircraft, this qualification will be indispensable for applying for airline positions.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the MEP training, you must hold a valid PPL (Private Pilot License) or CPL (Commercial Pilot License).

You will also need to have a valid Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate.

Finally, you must demonstrate a minimum of 70 hours of flight experience as Pilot in Command.

Training content

The MEP training offered by Aéropyrénées is structured to help you acquire solid skills in piloting multi-engine aircraft. The training is based on a curriculum that combines both theoretical cours and practical flight hours.

You will have 7 hours of ground school dedicated to learning and understanding the principles related to this class of aircraft, as well as 6 hours of flight time, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned.

Duration of the Training

The duration of the MEP training is typically one week, excluding weather-related disruptions. We can also adapt the program to fit your specific needs and availability.

Aircraft

During the MEP training, you will have the opportunity to fly one of our 5 Piper PA34 aircraft. These robust and high-performance planes are equipped with Lycoming engines developing 200 hp each, along with all the necessary navigation equipment.
