License extensions and renewals

A license (PPL, CPL, ATPL) is not time-limited. However, ratings (SEP, MEP, IRME, QT, etc.) have limited validity periods.

You must therefore ensure that your ratings remain valid over time. There are two cases:

  • Prorogation means your ratings have not yet expired. In most cases, you simply need to perform a check flight with a Flight Instructor (FI) or Flight Examiner (FE).
  • Renewal means your ratings have expired. In most cases, you will need to undergo refresher training before taking a new test with an examiner.

Prerequisites

  • Class 1 or 2 medical certificate

  • Licenses should be valid during the extention

In detail

  • Review and evaluation of a pilot’s records and qualifications by the Educational Manager

  • Briefing

  • Approximately 1.5 hours of flight on the aeroplane corresponding to the qualification.

  • Debriefing

  • Delivery by the FE or the CRE

IR Skill Refresh – Free IFR Skill Maintenance

Did you know? To help you in your career and optimize your chances of success, we have decided to offer our expertise for maintaining your IR (Instrument Rating) skills. For two years following your training, we provide training every six months that includes:

  • 2 hours of theoretical courses
  • 1 session of FNPT II simulator for 1.5 hours

  • Creation of a complete modular CPL – IR/ME with Aéropyrénées
